When going on a Disney trip with friends and family it is nice to be able to connect you Genie app to each other so that you can make dinning reservations and lightning lanes with each other. That way only one person in your party needs to make a reservation and all of you can see it in your app.
But how can you connect with them?
Well it is different for Disneyland and Disneyworld.
Disneyworld has you send an email to the person you want to connect with. They then have to accept your request and then you are connected. However, I have found that most of the time it will only connect you with that person and not the minors that they make plans for. Its not supposed to do that, you are supposed to be able to connect with everyone that person is responsible for. for example if I am traveling with my sister and send her an email request to link, i should be able to also link with her children, however more often than not that does not happen. I ususally have to call Disney and have them add them for me. Its a pain and I wish they would spend more time working on that issue.
Disneyland has a very simple way of linking others to your account. All you need to do is go to the app and select tickets, then link tickets. Then it will ask if you want to scan or enter the ticket number. You have to do that for every ticket in the party you are traveling with, But it is so much easier then having to email and call.
I think linking your tickets with your travel party is totally worth the headache sometimes, because then you are able to get return times for lightning lanes at the same time and relay on each other to help get hard to come by reservations. Plus if you are like me you like to see all of the plans you have coming up.
