Free things in Disney World

Any Disney park/vacation is going to cost A LOT of money. So when you learn there are some free things, you better believe we are going to take advantage of that.

1st: Disney Springs. This is a free shopping/restaurant area located just on the outskirts of Disney property. They have their own parking facilities here, and plenty of restaurants, shopping and entertainment. It was expanded a few years ago, and includes stores like The World of Disney, LEGO store, M & M store, clothing shops, jewelry shops and many more. You can also see a movie here and find plenty of delicious food. We haven't experienced most of the restaurants, but there are plenty to choose from here.

2nd: Free Buttons. Disney offers Celebration buttons. They have some for 1st visit and some for anniversaries, but the most common is the celebration pin. You can get these at most of the check in desks at the resorts, and there is usually one or two places in the parks you c an get them. Just ask a cast member where to get your pin and they will point you in the correct place. (It is usually a shop or building somewhere right at the front of the park).

3rd: Transportation. Any transportation( minus the Minnie cars) are free. Buses, monorail, boats and skyliner. These are free to use for anyone. Keep in mind there will still be a long line for any of these (maybe not the boats besides the ferry at MK)

4th: Kidcot stations at EPCOT. In the world Showcase, each country has a kidcot station for kids. These usually include a coloring card and stickers. There used to be activities kids could do here, but I believe this went away around the COVID closure. It is still fun to collect all the cards and stickers at each station. We had problems finding the China and Japan stations, but eventually wondered around and found them ( Hint Japan is just by the Kawaii museum). They are generally easy to spot. There are kidcot signs posted as well so you can check for those to make sure you are in the right place for your kiddo to get their freebies.

5th: Club Cool. Probably one of the most popular freebies is the sodas at Club Cool located in EPCOT by Connections. Here you are free to sample 6 or 7 different sodas from around the world. You have probably heard talks of Beverly, which is a bitter tasting soda and many people are surprised and shocked at how disgusting it tastes. But you gotta try it at least once. Thanks Italy for your contribution of gross soda.

6th: Wilderness Explorer Badges. In Animal Kingdom, you can find stations for the Wilderness Explorers to learn about animals and earn badges. This is free for kids, but adults can also do it. Just find the cast members wearing the Wilderness explorer outfits and have them show you and teach you what ever they have and earn your badges in your WE book.

Which of these are you going to try on your next trip?
