As we have mentioned, the Disney Parks are huge. And being a Disney park, there are plenty of opportunities to meet your favorite characters.
If you plan well, you can meet the ones you want and still have time for other things. If you have kids you may want to meet more than if you are just with adults.
Every park has characters to meet. If you pick up a park guide it will give you locations and times of most of the characters you can meet.
The best way to see lots of characters and sometimes rare characters is by doing character dining. There is at least 1 character dining spot at each park, and even some resorts have some as well. These usually do cost more money per person the the average signature dining location at Disney, but you get to see a bunch of characters who come to you and you also get food. Sometimes this is the best way to go with little kids. Then your not waiting in a long line.
If you want to do this option, make sure to book this reservation as soon as you can. These can book up fast, especially the princess dining.
Cinderella's Royal Palace always books up quick, because it is in the castle and has lots of princesses. Here you usually see Cinderella, Aurora, Snow White, but you can also see Merida, Jasmine, Ariel, and others. They may just rotate out depending on the time and day.
If you don't want to pay for Character dining, you can meet characters around the park. Most characters have a designated spot that meet at. (In Disneyland this is a little different).
The exception to this is in Galaxy's Edge. Most characters here are what they call "roaming characters". They don't always meet at the same spot and are found walking around.
You can find Pixar Characters, toy story characters and Disney Jr. Characters and Star wars characters at Hollywood studios.
Most princesses are at Magic Kingdom, but you can find a few at EPCOT. ( They will be located in their "respective" countries in World Showcase).
Anna and Elsa are the most popular and you can book a Lightening Lane for them.
There is also the Live Action Little Mermaid meet and greet at Hollywood Studios, but she is the only princess here currently.
You can find Mickey and friends at all parks, and some resort dining.
Animal Kingdom will have Moana, and sometimes Pocahontas.
Winnie the Pooh characters can be found at Magic Kingdom and EPCOT (England Pavilion).
Magic Kingdom will be the most popular for most meet and greets. You can book Lightening lanes for most, especially Fairytale Hall, Town Hall ( Mickey Mouse), Pete's Silly side show ( all other Mickey and friends characters)
No matter where you go there are plenty of places to meet characters.
If you want to go to a resort with character dining, they will mostly be at Deluxe Resorts:
Riviera Resort
Polynesian Resort
Grand Floridian
Contemporary
All of these have phenomenal character dining as well.
