Magic Kingdom Rides: Best for Kids

Writer's picture: wanderingwonderlanwanderingwonderlan

Magic Kingdom is probably the most kid friendly park. Most of the rides are for any age. There are a few rides that have height requirements, and some rides that are for all ages, but not necessarily for little kids who get scared and then you have the rides that are definitely for kids. We will break those down here

1st: height requirement rides

These rides include:

Tron Light cycle Run (48")

Space Mountain (44" )

Big Thunder Mountain ( 40")

Seven Dwarves Mine Train (38")

Tiana's Bayou Adventure (40")

The Barnstormer ( 35")

Tomorrowland speedway (32")

These rides are usually best for kids (3-10) that are taller. Not all kids enjoy fast rides or roller coasters and the height requirements are for their safety. We have found that our kids that are older ride these rides, but our toddlers and younger kids are still a little too small to do these ( except maybe speedway). You can use rider swap on all of these rides, so if you do have a kid that doesn't want to ride, you can use this service.

2nd. Rides for all ages, but maybe too scary for some younger kids

These include

Haunted Mansion

Pirates of the Caribbean

The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh

Astro Orbiter

While these rides are for all ages, there are some scary elements to them. Pirates of the Caribbean has some drops, Haunted Mansion is dark and spooky, Winnie the Pooh is dark and has some weird dreamlike sequences and Astro Orbiter is high and spinny

3rd: Rides for all ages

The remaining rides include:

(By land)

Main Street:

Mickey at Town Hall

Disney World Railroad ( this can be found it 4 spots)

Fantasyland and New Fantasyland:

Mad Tea Party

Prince Charmings Regal Carrousel

Under the Sea- Journey of the Little Mermaid

Mickeys Philarmagic

It's a Small world

Peter Pan's Flight

Enchanted Tales with Belle

Ariel's Grotto

Princess Fairytale Hall

Dumbo the Flying Elephant

Pete's Sideshow ( character meet and greet)

Tomorrowland:

Peoplemover

Carousel of Progress

Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin

Monsters Laugh Floor

Liberty Square

Hall of Presidents

Liberty Square boat

Frontierland:

Country Bear musical Jamboree

Tom Sawyer Island ( soon this will be replaced by Cars)

Adventureland:

Jungle Cruise

Swiss Family Treehouse

Tiki Room

Magic Carpets of Aladdin

These rides are all slow moving or inside shows. So they are great for babies, adults, kids, grandparents and even stubborn teenagers. Most of these are " filler" rides which have low wait times ( a few exceptions are Peter Pan's flight and Jungle Cruise, these are usually long waits) so you can hit a lot in an hour

Hopefully this list helps you plan which rides to hit on your next list. Questions? Let us know
